Account Management

Your account uses cPanel X, an online control panel which allows you to manage email accounts, view site statistics, check your drivespace and bandwidth usage, and much more.

When the new window opens, you will be prompted for the email address and password of the pop account that you would like to check.

Checking Email with a POP client

All mail client programs (ie Outlook Express, Netscape, or Eudora) need the same 4 basic pieces of information to allow you to check your mail, but they may ask for these pieces of info in different ways.

To access the POP3 account(s) for your domain, configure your email client to use the following information:

Outlook and Outlook Express Help

If you use Outlook or Outlook Express, and have recently moved to BWP servers, visit support for step by step instructions to get your email working right the first time. Whether you are setting up a new account, or changing your server settings, you'll need the email address and password that has been provided to you.

FTP Access

You can upload your web site right away using your FTP program, by connecting to the following address and supplying the credentials:

User name: guest

Password: demo

Some web clients, such as Internet Explorer also support FTP. If it works, your browser will propt you for the above password. Try your browser here: ftp://guest@iflybwp.net

Directory Structure

All web accessible files MUST be placed in the public_html directory (the www directory is an alas that points to the public_html directory so they will both have the same data).

In order for a default page to be displayed on your site you must place one of the following files in your public_html directory to ack as your default entrance page:

DO NOT REMOVE OR MODIFY the following directories:

These are very important system level directories that must be present for your site to work properly. If these directories are removed or modified a full account rebuild will be required with a total loss of your data. www@ is an alias for public_html, it is used by the system only. Your cgi-bin is within your public_html directory.

If you have subdomains or add-on domains, the virtual root for those lives within public_html, and each has a seperate cgi-bin.

If you intend to use Microsoft FrontPage, please activate the extensions from your control panel and then publish to your domain name once the name is resolving to your new site. If you need to transfer the site before the name has transferred please contact us at carpenter@brysonweb.com or 888.373.1005, and we will make special arrangments.
